This study explores how first-time mothers in Nova Scotia use online discussion boards for postpartum support and information. Analyzing discussions through a qualitative feminist poststructuralist lens, the research highlights that online forums foster a sense of community where empathy, encouragement, and information exchange are central. The study identifies key themes: empathy and support, socialization, the integration of online and offline networks, and community development. The findings suggest that these forums can provide valuable insights for improving postpartum care and emphasize the importance of creating supportive spaces for new mothers.
