This study investigates how instructor-led social media engagement strategies influence participation in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Facebook group. By comparing participation metrics between an instructor-led group and a control group without instructor presence, the research found that instructor-led strategies led to increased comments, longer comments, and more use of language play elements such as emojis and pauses. These strategies fostered more meaningful dialogues and enhanced language practice opportunities for students. The findings highlight the effectiveness of deliberate social media engagement in promoting active learning and community building in online and blended learning environments.
