As software projects expand in size and complexity, involving diverse stakeholders across different regions and organizations, project managers increasingly depend on open discussion forums for requirement elicitation and stakeholder communication. However, these forums often fall short in supporting the entire requirements-elicitation process, leading to redundancy and missed discussions due to stakeholders independently creating threads. This paper presents an automated forum management (AFM) system designed to organize discussion threads in open forums. The AFM system is explored through a series of case studies and experiments using feature requests mined from open source forums.
