This study examines the role of alcohol-related discussion forums in the UK by analyzing 758 messages from three public forums. Thematic analysis reveals three key themes: "sharing," which involves members disclosing and discussing their drinking problems; "supporting," which highlights the mutual support exchanged among members; and "sobriety," which describes the collective goal of achieving and maintaining sobriety. The findings suggest that these forums provide practical and emotional benefits to individuals dealing with alcohol-related issues, emphasizing the need for further research on peer support in this context.
