This article examines how music is discussed within online communities that espouse misogynistic views, focusing on the relationship between music genres and misogynistic attitudes. By analyzing 1,173 posts from six misogynistic antifeminist movement (MAM) forums, the study reveals that while hip hop, rap, and metal are frequently mentioned, there is notable variation in musical preferences and justifications among users. The analysis shows that masculinist lyrics are a primary reason for music preferences, but the judgments of these MAM communities are influenced by a mix of sonic and extra-musical discourses that are shaped and amplified within these forums.
