This action research study evaluates the impact of integrating a new capstone group-work assignment, using Online Human Touch (OHT) strategies, into an Information Systems course at a regional Caribbean university. The assignment simulated a real-world business 'eMeeting,' aimed at increasing student engagement and retention. Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data over six years revealed improved academic performance, higher exam scores, reduced attrition, and significant increases in student engagement. The assignment also enhanced key soft skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, communication, leadership, and time management.
