This study explores the experiences shared by adult children of alcoholics (ACoA) in online support groups. Analyzing 504 posts from three forums, seven key themes were identified: empowerment through support, parental interference, inner child issues, low self-esteem, anger and resentment, romantic relationship problems, and communication difficulties. These findings offer valuable insights into the challenges faced by ACoA and suggest areas for practitioners to focus on in supporting recovery and addressing issues within high-risk families.
