This case study explores the use of Facebook alongside Blackboard in higher education to support online learning. Analyzing student posts on both platforms revealed that Facebook significantly increases student activity and engagement throughout the study period compared to Blackboard. While Facebook discussions are more varied and less focused on core learning content, they complement Blackboard by covering administrative issues and external material. The study concludes that using both platforms together can enhance student interaction, but their distinct affordances should be considered in course design.
