This study assessed the mental health impacts of two online support forums for individuals bereaved by suicide over a one-year period. Participants, primarily women with low well-being, high depressive symptoms, and complicated grief, showed small to medium improvements in well-being and depressive symptoms after 12 months, though grief reduction was less pronounced. About two-thirds of participants reported benefiting from the forums. Despite these positive changes, a significant portion continued to struggle with mental health issues. The study highlighted the value of forums for providing recognition, though it could not establish a causal link between forum use and mental health improvements.
