This paper investigates retrogaming, a subculture focused on playing and collecting obsolete video games, by analyzing activities on two online forums, PlanetVB and AtariAge. Using natural language processing and social network analysis, the study explores how fan practices and social networks within these forums contribute to the community. The findings reveal that users engage in buying and selling collectibles, programming new games for old systems, and socializing, which collectively revitalizes discontinued gaming systems.
