This study aimed to enhance engagement and interaction in a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) through two main objectives: encouraging participation by having students write motivation essays and evaluating the use of visual learning analytics to improve interaction. Analysis of various types of forums (presentation, doubts, debate, reflection, analysis) and data from A/B testing showed that while MOOCs benefit from open participation, additional strategies such as Social Network Analysis are crucial for maintaining commitment and enhancing learning ecosystems.
