This experimental study investigates how different depths of self-disclosure (baseline, peripheral, core) in support-seeking posts affect forum viewers' interaction involvement and reciprocal self-disclosure in their responses. Using computerized text analyses, the study finds that deeper self-disclosure is linked to increased interaction and reciprocal disclosure in response messages. The results highlight the importance of self-concept self-disclosure in fostering engagement and provide insights for future research.
