The paper introduces Quasimodo, a methodology and tool suite designed to improve the automatic acquisition of commonsense knowledge, which is essential for robust AI applications. Quasimodo addresses challenges related to sparsity and bias in online sources by leveraging search-engine query logs and QA forums. It combines these sources with data from encyclopedias, books, and image tags to distill reliable commonsense properties associated with objects and concepts. The tool's effectiveness is demonstrated through extensive evaluations, showing that Quasimodo offers better coverage than existing methods while maintaining comparable quality.
