This study examines decision-making processes shared by Prostate Cancer (PCa) patients on online message boards. Analyzing 137 messages from blogs and forums, the research finds that nearly half of the messages describe non-systematic decision-making processes, often deferring to doctors or focusing on cancer removal. Systematic processes, which consider treatment outcomes and side effects, were reported in 36.5% of messages. The study highlights that fewer messages reflected lay beliefs or misconceptions compared to previous research.
