This diachronic study evaluates an innovative educational approach involving the creation of multimedia concept maps (MCMs) by students in social education programs, paired with active discussion in online forums. Conducted at Pablo Olavide University from 2010 to 2013, the study used a virtual, collaborative action-research framework to analyze 213 MCMs and forum interactions. Using qualitative tools like Atlas-Ti for word frequency analysis and UCINET and yED Graph Editor for social network analysis, the study found that integrating MCMs with discussion forums fosters interactive and collaborative learning. The approach effectively helps students categorize and understand key areas of social and educational intervention.
