This article employs autobiography as a method to reflect on the author's experiences of self-directed professional learning within an online community of teachers. Drawing on Søren Kierkegaard's critique of the Press and his conceptualization of three spheres of human existence, the author examines their engagement in the online community. Despite the abundance of information exchanged, the community falls short in facilitating the transformation of information into meaningful pedagogical knowledge. Moreover, the community seems to promote indiscriminate interest-sharing without accountability for the consequences. Through this autobiographical reflection, the author proposes an existential approach to reflective practice for teachers' self-directed professional learning in online communities.
