The paper introduces SocialTrust, a framework designed to establish tamper-resilient trust in online communities, addressing the risks posed by the increasing reliance on Web 2.0's social Web. SocialTrust differentiates relationship quality from trust, includes a personalized feedback mechanism, and tracks user behavior to provide dynamic trust values. Its effectiveness is demonstrated through experiments with millions of MySpace profiles and relationships, showing robust trust establishment despite potential collusion by malicious participants.
