This research examines the varying needs and experiences of users across different types of online communities, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of what influences user participation. Through twenty-four in-depth interviews, the study identifies critical factors that affect how users engage with online communities, considering both the nature of the community and the individual goals of its members.
