This study delves into the influence of online communities on software developers' trust in AI-powered code generation tools. Through a two-phase formative study comprising interviews with 17 developers and 11 design probe sessions, the research explores how developers use community experiences to assess AI tools and identifies design opportunities to foster appropriate trust through community features. Findings extend an existing model of user trust in AI by incorporating sociotechnical factors, offering insights into how integrating user communities can enhance trust in AI code generation systems.
