This study leverages expectation-confirmation theory (ECT) to develop an integrated model that explores the impact of perceived identity verification (PIV) and performance expectancy on participants' continuance intention to create knowledge and their satisfaction within online communities. Through surveys conducted in two online communities, Baidu in China and Yahoo knowledge+ in Taiwan, with 213 and 216 usable responses respectively, the study finds that both PIV and performance expectancy positively influence continuance intention for knowledge creation. Specifically, in the Baidu community, satisfaction is directly influenced by performance expectancy and indirectly by PIV through performance expectancy. The results offer valuable insights for both theoretical understanding and practical application in online community management.
