This study investigates the factors influencing member participation in online communities, focusing on the fundamental benefits perceived by members and their impact on participation levels and attitudes. Through an online survey, three main benefits are identified: information acquisition, socio-psychological, and hedonic. Findings suggest that functional benefits, particularly information acquisition and experience sharing, significantly influence participation levels and attitudes. The study offers managerial implications for operating online travel communities and provides insights for future research.
