This quasi-experimental study explored the impact of online communities of practice on pre-service teachers' critical thinking dispositions in teacher education. Utilizing the California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory along with qualitative analysis of comments and answers in online communities, the research found no significant overall effect on critical thinking dispositions. However, improvements were noted in the self-confidence and open-mindedness dimensions for those in the experimental group. Comments made by pre-service teachers showed a tendency towards expressing personal views and providing mutual support rather than displaying critical thinking skills.
