This study examines the impact of context on decision-making in online communities, proposing that different dimensions of context influence members' behaviors by shaping their perception of problems and solutions. Focusing on the open-source software community, the study derives hypotheses about contribution behaviors and validates them using a dataset of 24,057 community members from SourceForge.net between 2000 and 2002.
