This article presents a qualitative analysis of discussion forums within online mental health communities, focusing on how diagnoses are discussed and their impact on personal identity. It examines the significance of official diagnoses, informal consultations, and the practice of self-diagnosis through online quizzes and tools, as well as the phenomenon of other-diagnosis. The study explores the implications of these discussions for both Internet users and the medical profession, highlighting the challenges posed by online mental health discourse.
