This study explores the intersectional oppressions faced by women of color in the Xbox Live online gaming community, utilizing qualitative methods and an intersectional framework. It highlights how linguistic profiling, sexism, racism, nativism, and heterosexism impact these women, leading them to form their own gaming clans for support and segregation from the mainstream, white male-dominated gaming culture. The paper underscores the transfer of real-world inequalities into virtual gaming environments, exacerbated by anonymity and disinhibition.
