This study focuses on exploring factors influencing users' continued participation in online communities, employing an extended information systems (IS) continuance model that incorporates entertainment value and affective commitment. Through an online survey of 240 users from a bulletin board-based community in China, the research employs partial least squares analysis to examine the model. Results indicate that both satisfaction and affective commitment significantly affect users' intentions to continue participating in online communities, with these factors being influenced by the positive disconfirmation of both purposive and entertainment values. The study enriches theoretical understanding of online community continuance and offers practical insights for community moderators on strategies to retain users.
