This study explores the intersection between the resilience of older adults and the benefits offered by online communities, a topic not extensively covered in prior research. Through a systematic review and thematic analysis, the research identifies three key benefits of online communities for older adults: social support, self-empowerment, and wellbeing improvement. These benefits align with and potentially support resilience factors such as meaningfulness, grit, self-care, external connections, health status, a positive life perspective, and independence. The findings lay the groundwork for future research into how online communities can enhance older adults' resilience.
