This research, conducted between 1999 and 2001, explores the effectiveness of hybrid courses, combining face-to-face and online elements, through action research. By analyzing students' opinions and the impact of moderation strategies in online communities, the study utilizes both qualitative and quantitative methods, drawing data from online discussions, interviews, observations, and surveys. Findings indicate a positive reception from both students and instructors towards hybrid courses, highlighting the significant role that moderating strategies play in enhancing online community engagement.
