This study investigates the comparative effects of social-context awareness (SA) and knowledge-context awareness (KA) on peer interaction and learning performance within online learning communities, utilizing a consistent experimental setting and a repeated-measurement design. Findings reveal that SA promotes more quantitative peer interactions than KA, but both have limited impact on the quality of message content. Notably, the SA group demonstrated significantly improved learning performance in a subsequent assessment, attributed to increased peer interaction frequency.
