This paper addresses a research gap by investigating the impact of anonymity and community type on individuals' social and individual drivers of knowledge-sharing attitude in non-business-oriented online communities. Drawing on social capital theory, the study proposes and empirically validates a relational model through a survey of 329 users of Facebook, LinkedIn, and CNET. Using partial least squares (PLS) analysis, the research model demonstrates strong explanatory power. The findings have implications for both research and practice in understanding knowledge-sharing behavior in online communities beyond organizational contexts.
