This study investigates the impact of online leaders' presence on community dynamics and member behavior within five online communities, identifying distinct forms of presence—interactive, instructive, stimulating, and silent—and their varying influences. It emphasizes the importance of understanding leadership presence as a behavioral construct in online settings and discusses its implications for both theory and practice, while also suggesting avenues for future research.
