This exploratory research project investigated the impact of an innovative teaching technology called photovoice (PV) on creating a sense of community in an online classroom, specifically in a graduate course on change management. The study aimed to document and analyze students' perceptions of PV, revealing that it supported course engagement, enhanced the learning environment, and fostered social connectedness among students. These outcomes are evaluated within the frameworks of Rovai's online learning community and the Community of Inquiry Model, highlighting the potential of PV in addressing the challenges of building community in virtual educational settings.
