This research delves into what aids or hinders value co-creation within organization-sponsored online communities, focusing on two Indonesian communities through the examination of 28,000 posts and 26 interviews. It introduces new factors such as transparency, participatory leadership, content quality, social hierarchy, sense of community, flexibility, and privacy, all influenced by individual participants, the organization, technology, and sociality. The study highlights that these factors can either facilitate or constrain value co-creation, varying by community, individual perspectives, and other conditions, underlining the dynamic interplay between these elements.
