This study analyzes 14,933 health-related posts from the two most popular Senior Online Communities (SOCs) in China, Yinling and Keai, to understand the health information needs of senior users. Through word frequency analysis and text classification, the research categorizes these needs into coping with aging, dietary nutrition, physical exercise, and mental health. Findings indicate a predominant concern for physical health, with a higher number of posts related to Western medicine, although traditional Chinese medicine is more frequently discussed in the context of aging and physical exercise. The study reveals stable health information needs among SOCs users and discusses the impact of medical systems and topics on the popularity of health information, noting inconsistencies between post volume and popularity.
