Using a mixed-methods approach, this study investigates the value of online communities for people who stutter (PWS) in providing psychosocial support. Forty-two participants completed a questionnaire assessing self-esteem, feelings about stuttering, and levels of support before and after joining online communities. Results indicate a significant increase in self-esteem and perceived support after participation. Thematic analysis identifies themes including worldwide connection, encouragement, and ongoing support, highlighting the beneficial role of online communities for PWS.
