Seay et al. (2004) conducted a study on the online gaming community called "Project massive," which explored the dynamics of group formation and social interaction in online games. They found that players formed groups and social connections based on shared interests and personality traits. The authors suggest that these findings could be applied to other online communities, such as social networking sites, to help create more effective and cohesive groups.
