This study explores the role of linguistic accommodation in online mental health communities, specifically analyzing its impact on the social support received by individuals. By quantitatively assessing posts in 55 Reddit communities for linguistic accommodation and received support, the research finds a positive correlation between them. The findings highlight a tension in balancing community norms and support provision, offering insights for enhancing support mechanisms in such sensitive environments.
