This paper introduces an unsupervised neural model designed to learn linguistic descriptors that characterize user behavior over time in online communities, with a focus on understanding the functional roles users occupy within these spaces. Through experiments conducted on Reddit, the model demonstrates its ability to offer interpretable insights into user behavior, distinguishing itself from standard topic-modeling algorithms by capturing more than just topical content. The findings highlight linguistic differences that are associated with variations in user activity levels and the clustering of communities, showcasing the model's potential in enhancing social network analysis and community management.
