This preliminary study delves into the emotional dynamics of online health communities by employing sentiment analysis and natural language processing techniques. The research aims to assess the intensity of different emotions—such as positivity, optimism, negativity, anxiety, anger, and sadness—within health forum discussions. Additionally, it seeks to compare the emotional expressions of forum participants across various roles, including askers versus answerers, gender differences (men versus women), and the roles of caregivers versus patients. The study's goal is to enhance comprehension of emotional communication within online health forums.
