This study investigates how self-disclosure varies in online and face-to-face communication across cultures, focusing on 1,064 respondents from the United States and China. Results suggest that national culture, communication mode, and relationship type interact to influence self-disclosure levels. Additionally, the study highlights the role of relationship characteristics, such as closeness and openness, in shaping disclosure patterns. These findings offer insights into designing online communities for diverse cultural contexts and facilitating intercultural collaboration.
