JoelR
"You say 'amateur' as if it was a dirty word. 'Amateur' comes from the Latin word 'amare', which means to love. To do things for the love of it." Source: Mozart in the Jungle
Maria
When I use amateur, I mean a person who is a novice, a newbie, or a person who does not have experience. I like to use amateur as the opposite of professional. I never used the word amateur to mean inferior I did not know the root of this word was "amare" and it means "to love." This is a new information to me.
