Where do spammers come from?

Recommended Posts

I am not racist but I am sorry to say that most spammers on my communities come from Russia (based on IP and email account using yandex domain or dot ru extension). What about you, where do most spammers in your community come from?

A lot of Fiverr sellers who are selling backlink gigs also visit forums to post links for their clients. Most freelancers who offer link building services are also spamming forums.

Spammers are hired by rich people ( countries ) and come from smaller, poor countries.

I also believe that people based in tier 1 and tier 2 countries hire people in tier 3, and tier 4 countries to spam blogs and forums. I do not know why they do this as spam posts are always deleted by the website owners.

I have to agree that a lot of freelancers spam communities for their clients. I have multiple times been offered positions to post links in the communities. I had to refuse the job because I have built reputation in communities by posting regularly over the years and I don't want to damage that for a few bucks

Something I have noticed over the years is that a lot of those who spam on forums tend to come from areas that are not so well off and they are usually hired by those who are wealthy to spam a specific message or link around forums and blogs.

I also believe sometimes forum owners hire spammers to spam rival forums. Most spam links are for porn sites or phishing sites. The only thing I wonder is why do they spam when they should be already knowing the spam posts will be permanently deleted.

Many freelancers tend to get hired to spam links within communities by those they are hired by. This is something that is common and is often taken on by those who live in poorer countries and are willing to do things like this for money.
